4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 4/14/17

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Now, let's get to the stacks. We'll be focusing exclusively on the main slate beginning at 7 pm Eastern. Here are the teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.

Minnesota Twins

This is Dylan Covey's big-league debut for the Chicago White Sox after they made him a Rule-5 selection over the winter. Covey has a great backstory of overcoming health issues to make it to the majors, so he's a guy we definitely want to pull for. He's just facing some really tough odds in this situation.

Before making the club out of spring training, Covey had started just six games above High-A ball in his minor-league career. In those six starts, his strikeout rate was acceptable at 21.1%, but he issued a walk to 13.8% of opposing batters. Covey's strikeout numbers were lower earlier in his career, and he has never been stingy with walks. That all could lead to some rough patches in the bigs, especially against a Minnesota Twins team that leads the league in walk rate at 12.9%.

We don't need to talk about Miguel Sano here. You've likely noticed that he's blasting the bejeebus out of baseballs this year, so we don't have to waste the fake ink. They've also got some cheaper sticks making loud contact early on. All prices below are for FanDuel along with their eligible position. These samples are small, but hot dang, the Twins be banging.

Joe Mauer hitting fly balls is the pre-2016 equivalent of the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series, so there seems to be an organizational push toward lofting the ball more. It's paying off thus far. This is a great stack to target as you try to pay up for the ace pitchers on the slate.
