4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 5/2/17

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Now, let's get to the stacks. Here are the teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.

New York Yankees

The team that ranks fourth in wRC+ against righties is facing a right-handed pitcher with a 5.53 SIERA and a 13.2% strikeout rate since the start of last year. You want to stack the New York Yankees against Mat Latos.

Only two starts in that aforementioned sample on Latos have come from 2017, but neither did enough to convince you not to load up on Bronx Bombers. Although Latos went six shutout innings his last time out, he still had as many walks as strikeouts, and that came against a team that didn't have a designated hitter in the first half of a doubleheader. This is a much better situation for offense. We can put faith in the 6.45 SIERA Latos has in these two starts and pluck away at the Yankees' lineup.

Outside of Aaron Judge -- who is crushing baseballs and up to $4,100 on FanDuel as a result -- there could be some value in the Yankees' outfield. Matt Holliday figures to bat third for just $3,000. Then there's Brett Gardner and Jacoby Ellsbury, who have suddenly started hitting balls in the air against righties this year.

It's possible this is all due to a small sample, but with the winds blowing out at 14 miles per hour at a homer-friendly park, it's not a bad idea to give them a look. As long as you're willing to forgo Judge, this is a stack you can use while paying up for a top arm like Chris Sale.
