3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 8/7/17

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Pittsburgh Pirates

Aging veterans can be sad to watch. There are a few folks that seem to be struggling in the twilight of their careers this season, such as Adam Wainwright, Bartolo Colon, and one pitcher we're going to pick on tonight, Jordan Zimmermann of the Detroit Tigers.

From a DFS perspective, Zimmerman is a dream target, as he's allowing generous contact on both sides of the plate. Lefties have knocked him for a .374 wOBA, including a 40.5% hard-hit rate and a 41.8% fly-ball rate, while righties have put up a .352 wOBA, a 36.0% hard-hit rate, and a 40.9% fly-ball rate. While never a strikeout ace, Zimmerman's whiffing only 15.9% of hitters, the second-lowest mark of his lengthy career.

He'll cost a pretty penny to roster, but Andrew McCutchen is worth every damn cent.

Recently winning the NL Player of the Month award in June, he may grab the thing again for July. In 218 plate appearances over the last two months, Cutch has ripped off a .367 average, walked more (15.1%) than he struck out (13.3%), and made hard contact 38.6% of the time.

The best part about this stack is that nearly every other Pittsburgh Pirates teammate is pretty cheap. A trio of players check in at $3,300 (Josh Bell, Starling Marte and Josh Harrison), and Adam Frazier, who's been at the top of the lineup, is only a cool $3k.
