4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 8/28/17

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Now, let's get to the stacks.

Tampa Bay Rays

The roller coaster that is the Tampa Bay Rays' offense has been quite the wild ride this season.

On the year, the Rays rank 21st in team wOBA (.318), but their offense has been characterized by months of being really good (May and June) and others that aren't so good (April, July and August). Check out their monthly splits for both wOBA and slugging percentage below.

But looking at the Rays as a whole would ignore how awesome they've been in the back half of August -- specifically over the last seven days. In that span, Tampa Bay ranks fifth in team wOBA (.360), and they could be in line for a big game tonight against Kansas City Royals starter Ian Kennedy.

The Rays get a major boost in park factor tonight traveling to Kansas City -- their home park ranks 19th in park factor, whereas Kauffman Stadium ranks 6th over the last three years.

Kennedy, meanwhile, has gotten annihilated by lefties this season. In 2017, Kennedy's allowed a 45.7% hard-hit rate and 50.9% fly-ball rate to left-handed batters. And over the last two weeks, the Rays have some white-hot lefties, including Kevin Kiermaier (.416 wOBA in that stretch) at $3,300 and Corey Dickerson (.392) at $3,800. The Rays will re-gain the designated hitter after a weekend series in St. Louis, so both Lucas Duda at $3,400 and Logan Morrison, who socked two bombs yesterday, at $3,000 are in play.

To save some cash, don't ignore right-handed batter Wilson Ramos. He's only $2,600, and he has posted a .478 wOBA, 39.4% hard-hit rate, and 36.4% fly-ball rate over the last 14 days.
