FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Tuesday 5/1/18
After a middling pitching slate last night (although Charlie Morton and Zack Greinke proved to be up to the task), we're spoiled with a bevy of aces on Tuesday. And if that wasn't enough, we have plenty of enticing hitting spots to work with in teams like the St. Louis Cardinals, Boston Red Sox and Milwaukee Brewers, along with the Chicago Cubs and Colorado Rockies, who are looking at possibly 16 mile-per-hour winds blowing out at Wrigley Field. The results were disappointing at Wrigley yesterday, but don't let that deter you from jumping right back in tonight.
Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered! And don't forget to take a listen to The Solo Shot podcast with Jim Sannes, who breaks down the MLB daily fantasy slate each day.
On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.
Pitchers to Target
High-Priced Pitchers
Max Scherzer ($11,500 on FanDuel): Max Scherzer has been outstanding as usual to begin 2018, producing a 2.32 SIERA, 38.0% strikeout rate, and 6.0% walk rate through six starts. Only Gerrit Cole has bested him in strikeout rate over the first month, and even with a who's who of elite arms on the board, it's hard to argue against Scherzer as your number one overall choice. As of this writing, the Pittsburgh Pirates display just a 3.03 implied team total, and Scherzer is a heavy home favorite (-230) over Chad Kuhl. Fire away in both cash games and tournaments.
