FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Saturday 6/16/18
Most of Saturday's contests are scheduled for the afternoon, leaving us with a tidy four-game main slate that gets things going a little later than usual (8:15pm EST). On the pitching side, Patrick Corbin stands alone at the top -- practically by default -- and the bats are a bit muddled together, with the highest implied team total belonging to the Arizona Diamondbacks at just 4.51.
Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered!
On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.
Pitchers to Target
Patrick Corbin ($9,500 on FanDuel): Patrick Corbin still hasn't regained the velocity he showed early in the season, but that hasn't stopped him from putting up a 28.1% strikeout rate since the beginning of May. A rise in walk rate (9.2%) and hard-hit rate (46.7%) is concerning, and he's not inducing as many ground balls now (40.5%), but he's still managed a solid 3.34 FIP over that span. That said, any worries should immediately wash away on Saturday night, given that he's in arguably the best possible matchup for a southpaw versus the New York Mets. The Mets' implied team total is just 3.49, and they've been dreadful against left-handed pitching, striking out at a 26.4% clip with a league-worst 62 wRC+. None of tonight's alternatives can compare to Corbin in either punchout upside or opponent, leaving him in a tier of his own.
