FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Friday 6/22/18
We're wrapping up the work week with a hefty 14-game main slate, but despite the plethora of games, pitching is rather muddled tonight. On the other hand, we're brimming with offenses in strong spots, led by the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field, followed by the Cleveland Indians and Houston Astros.
Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered!
On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.
Pitchers to Target
Sean Newcomb ($8,900 on FanDuel): For such a large slate, we're dealing with quite the conundrum at pitcher, with no obvious top option taking the hill. Patrick Corbin ($9,200) owns the highest strikeout rate on the board, but he's been less trustworthy since his velocity drop and gets an undesirable matchup against the low-strikeout Pittsburgh Pirates. Dallas Keuchel ($8,600) is getting a Kansas City Royals squad with the lowest implied team total (3.20), but his modest strikeout rate (18.2%) limits his fantasy scoring potential. That leaves Sean Newcomb as arguably our best choice in this price range. He owns a solid 24.9% strikeout rate and has a nice matchup against the Baltimore Orioles (3.69 implied team total), who have posted a measly 83 wRC+ against southpaws. Newcomb's 11.0% walk rate is always a concern, but he helps himself out with an appealing 50.0% ground-ball rate and 23.4% soft-hit rate. While he's hardly an elite play, Newcomb is one of tonight's best.
