Max Scherzer ($12,200 on FanDuel): Scherzer is in a tier of his own today in both price and projection, per our models. His matchup with the Miami Marlins is about as good as you can ask for as Miami sits 27th in wOBA (.294) with the 12th-highest strikeout rate (22.9%). For the season, Scherzer is sporting a 36.9% strikeout rate, 17.2% swinging-strike rate, 6.4% walk rate and 2.46 SIERA. The only worry here is that Scherzer's worst start of 2018 (six innings, four runs) came against the Marlins, but that's probably random variance more than anything. We project Scherzer for 42.9 FanDuel points, tops on the slate by a healthy margin, and Miami's 2.58 implied total is the lowest by nearly a full run. He's clearly the best cash-game option of the night.
