FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Monday 10/1/18
With not one but two 163rd games going on Monday to determine the playoff seeding of four National League teams (the Brewers, Cubs, Rockies, and Dodgers), FanDuel has thrown together an afternoon slate for us. While technically still part of the regular season, the drama that is the MLB postseason effectively begins today. Let's face it -- if you're reading this, you were going to watch anyway, so why not make some lineups?
Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered!
On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.
Pitchers to Target
German Marquez ($10,000 on FanDuel): From a pitching perspective, the matchup between the the Rockies and Dodgers is the much more intriguing of today's two games. German Marquez has been one of the hottest pitchers down the stretch, and in the second half, he's posted the third-best SIERA (2.56) and fifth-best strikeout rate (33.4%) among qualified starters. He's been pitching like a true ace for a while now, and on a two-game slate, we'll gladly take our chances with him, even against a tough lineup like the Dodgers, an offense that put up the second-best wRC+ since the All-Star break (119). Still, LA also whiffed at a 23.6% clip over that span, and Marquez has scored more than 50 FanDuel points in six of his last seven starts.
