4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 4/19/19

We get 28 different teams to sift through on Friday night, but with rain threatening in Baltimore, Pittsburgh, New York, Cleveland, and Detroit, be sure to use our lineups page and player news feed for the latest updates. While rain is always a nuisance in DFS, you can sometimes take advantage of these situations to roster stacks with lower ownership than they would otherwise see. The New York Yankees are one such example tonight.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Now, let's get to the stacks. As usual, we will not include today's game at Coors Field in these recommendations. You already know that you want bats at Coors when you can afford them, and you don't need us to tell you. Here are the other teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.

Houston Astros

We get another night of Coors Field action between the Philadelphia Phillies and Colorado Rockies, with the clear stacking edge going to the Rockies against Vincent Velasquez. You shouldn't rule out stacking the Phillies against German Marquez, too -- anything can happen at Coors Field -- but it wouldn't be surprising to see Marquez put the clamps down this evening.

Outside of Coors, though, the Houston Astros are one of the clear favorites to do some damage, holding a 5.58 implied total that's even moved past the Rockies over the course of the day for top honors on the slate.

They oppose left-hander Drew Smyly, who's struggled in his first MLB action since the 2016 season. He's the owner of a 5.37 SIERA, 20.0% strikeout rate, and 12.7% walk rate through three starts, resulting in allowing 9 earned runs over 11 1/3 innings. Considering he's also given up a whopping 58.3% hard-hit rate with a mere 25.0% ground-ball rate, there's not a whole lot to suggest things will get better any time soon.

Throw in a date in hitter-friendly Globe Life Park with double-digit winds blowing out, and it's easy to see why Houston is expected to roll in this one. All the big righty bats in the top half of the lineup are in play as always, and lower in the order you can hit the bargain bin for guys like Yulieski Gurriel ($3,000) and Tyler White ($2,100).
