4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 5/28/19
As is often the case when they're home, the Colorado Rockies are showing far and away the night's highest implied total (6.39), so you can bet they'll be a popular stack. They'll be tough to fade in a juicy matchup against Merrill Kelly, but you can always find ways to differentiate your lineup in other spots. To a lesser extent, the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks (5.61) should also draw some ownership against Antonio Senzatela, but on a 15-game slate with loads of options, it's possible they'll be lesser popular than usual for a Coors team.
Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.
Premium members can use our stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.
Now, let's get to the stacks. As usual, we will not include today's game at Coors Field in these recommendations. You already know that you want bats at Coors when you can afford them, and you don't need us to tell you. Here are the other teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.
New York Yankees
Stacking the New York Yankees at hitter-friendly Yankee Stadium against a mediocre pitcher tends to work out more often than not, and that's exactly what we have in left-hander Eric Lauer tonight, who's spotting New York a 5.41 implied total.
With a 4.44 SIERA and 19.7% strikeout rate through 10 starts, Lauer is putting up similar numbers to last year, and he's also allowing a fair bit of hard contact again (39.3%) and more fly balls (37.3%). There's certainly nothing scary about those numbers, and he's also really struggled to miss bats, owning the third-worst swinging-strike rate among pitchers with at least 50 innings (7.2%).
Just as importantly, even with all their injuries this season, the Yankees aren't lacking in power, with all of Gary Sanchez ($4,100), Luke Voit ($4,200), Aaron Hicks ($3,600), and Gleyber Torres ($3,700) owning ISOs above .230 against lefties dating back to 2018.
And while DJ LeMahieu ($3,600) isn't known for his pop, even if we exclude the games at Coors Field, he's posted a solid .224 ISO and 41.7% hard-hit rate with the platoon advantage since the start of 2017.
