FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Friday 7/12/19
Our first full slate following the All-Star break brings about a strong lean towards hitting, with 10 teams displaying implied totals above five runs. The Yankees lead the way in a plus matchup at home, while Coors Field also makes its return with the Reds visiting the hometown Rockies. All that offense leaves the pitching cupboard a little bare for a 13-game slate, though we still have some high-upside arms at our disposal.
Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered! And don't forget to take a listen to The Solo Shot podcast with Jim Sannes, who breaks down the MLB daily fantasy slate each day.
On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.
Pitchers to Target
High-Priced Pitcher
Gerrit Cole ($11,400 on FanDuel): Pitching against the Rangers in 90-degree heat at Globe Life Park is hardly ideal, but few can match the ceiling of Gerrit Cole in general, let alone on this slate where he's far and away the highest-priced hurler. Among qualified starters, Cole's massive 36.7% strikeout rate sits atop the list, while his 2.89 SIERA is second only to Max Scherzer. Although the hitter-friendly conditions add some obvious risk here, the Rangers are rather generous in handing out punchouts, as their active roster owns a 24.7% strikeout rate against righties. On an evening with few sure things at pitcher, we shouldn't hesitate to roll with Cole.
