FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Monday 7/15/19

There's certainly some star power amongst Monday's crop of pitchers, but most come in with their share of question marks and tough matchups. Hitting sure isn't lacking, though, with the Giants and Rockies beginning a series at Coors Field, while the Indians and Red Sox could also be set to do some damage tonight.

On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.

Pitchers to Target

High-Priced Pitchers

James Paxton ($9,000 on FanDuel): Clayton Kershaw's modest 23.3% strikeout rate makes him a tough sell as the slate's most expensive hurler at $10,300, while Luis Castillo ($9,700) and Blake Snell ($9,400) draw unenviable matchups against the Cubs and Yankees, respectively. The strikeout upside of the latter two may still make them worth a look in tournaments, but it's James Paxton who draws the more appealing spot at home against the Rays. Paxton's first season in pinstripes hasn't been the smoothest, but he's still sporting a 28.9% strikeout rate and is coming off a masterful 11-strikeout performance against this same Tampa Bay team prior to the break. Although the Rays are a solid offense this year, their level drops off against southpaws, a split in which their active roster owns a mere 96 wRC+ with a generous 23.6% strikeout rate. Yankee Stadium is always tricky over these warm summer months, but of the slate's top hurlers, Paxton arguably has the easiest path toward a big night.
