4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 7/30/19
Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.
Premium members can use our stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.
Now, let's get to the stacks. As usual, we will not include today's game at Coors Field in these recommendations. You already know that you want bats at Coors when you can afford them, and you don't need us to tell you that. Here are the other teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.
New York Yankees
The New York Yankees have a massive 6.75 implied total, the highest of the slate (as of Tuesday morning) for their home date with Taylor Clarke. Clarke put up a meager 19.6% strikeout rate in 152 Triple-A innings in 2018, and since getting the call to the bigs, it's gone about how you'd expect it to go as he's carrying a 5.27 SIERA and 16.8% strikeout rate through 51 2/3 innings. He's allowing a 40.6% hard-hit rate and 40.5% fly-ball rate, so, yeah, this could go real poorly for him.
While it'll be hard to pay up on the mound, get exposure to Coors and stack the Bronx Bombers, the Yanks are a terrifying fade in this spot. They offer a slew of big-time, high-priced hitters in Aaron Judge ($4,200), DJ LeMahieu ($4,100), Aaron Hicks ($3,800) and Edwin Encarnacion ($4,300). On the cheaper-but-not-that-cheap end of things, you can peep Luke Voit ($3,600), Didi Gregorius ($3,300) and Gleyber Torres ($3,500). For a real bargain, Mike Tauchman ($2,900) and Austin Romine ($2,500) offer budget-friendly access to the Yankees.
For those counting at home, I just listed all nine of their projected starters. They're all in play.
Judge has a .364 wOBA against right-handers this year after amassing a .384 wOBA in the split in 2018. At home versus righties, he's recorded a silly 59.6% hard-hit rate this season. Gregorius finished 2018 with a .423 wOBA at home with the platoon advantage, and Voit has a .385 wOBA this year against right-handers.
