FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Tuesday 8/6/19
Tuesday's 14-game main slate brings about some solid arms in soft matchups, while we're once again flush with high implied team totals for usual suspects like the Yankees, Red Sox, and Indians. Note that there's rain in the forecast for a number of games, though nothing that looks particularly dangerous as of this writing.
Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered! And don't forget to take a listen to The Solo Shot podcast with Jim Sannes, who breaks down the MLB daily fantasy slate each day.
On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.
Pitchers to Target
High-Priced Pitchers
Zack Wheeler ($10,700 on FanDuel): Zack Wheeler's modest 2019 results don't really reflect that of a guy priced above $10k, but a 3.91 SIERA, 26.0% strikeout rate, and 6.1% walk rate still look the part. His 4.45 ERA looks more to be the outcome of an unlucky 66.6% strand rate, which is well below his career average (73.0%). But what we're really here for is his fantastic matchup against the Marlins, which is pretty much standard DFS procedure these days. Miami's active roster owns the second-worst wRC+ against righties (78) alongside a 24.1% strikeout rate. As one might expect, the Marlins aren't expected to do much in this one, displaying a paltry 3.28 implied total.
