4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 8/6/19
With 14 games on tap and plenty of exploitable matchups at our disposal, it looks like another wide-open evening for stacks. The New York Yankees have the highest implied total on the board (6.37), so they figure to be one of the most popular choices against the Baltimore Orioles. However, it's worth considering that Asher Wojciechowski has actually been putting up some compelling numbers for the Orioles -- including a 29.6% strikeout rate and 14.4% swinging-strike rate -- so this might not be your typical Orioles beatdown tonight. If you don't buy into the strides Wojciechowski has made, then, by all means, stack away, but when factoring in ownership, it could be a spot to have less exposure to than we normally would.
Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.
Premium members can use our stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.
Now, let's get to the stacks.
Boston Red Sox
The Boston Red Sox (5.98 implied total) get another favorable matchup against the Kansas City Royals tonight, this time getting to take their hacks against right-hander Jake Junis.
Junis has taken steps back in both SIERA (4.60) and walk rate (8.1%) this season, and he's just as prone to the long ball as ever, giving up 1.63 homers per nine innings for the second straight campaign. In 2019, he's allowing a 42.9% hard-hit rate and 34.4% fly-ball rate, and his Baseball Savant page is a sea of blue, with Junis wallowing in the 15th percentile in xSLG.
He also allows hard contact to both sides of the plate, so all our favorite Boston sluggers could be poised to do damage, including Mookie Betts ($4,300), Rafael Devers ($4,200), J.D. Martinez ($4,200), and Andrew Benintendi ($3,700).
Tonight's lineup also offers lots of value lower in the order, too, between Brock Holt ($2,300), Mitch Moreland ($3,000), Christian Vazquez ($2,900), Michael Chavis ($3,100), and Jackie Bradley ($2,700).
