3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for Tuesday 9/20/22
Stacks are an integral part of daily fantasy baseball. They can push a team to the top of a GPP by driving upside. However, they're also viable in cash games, namely smaller (two-person or three-person) stacks that mitigate the volatility of a full four-person stack.
This article is your home throughout the 2022 Major League Baseball season for the day's top stacks. The primary goal is to identify the highest-scoring upside stack. Still, game theory will play a role in contrarian stacks making the cut as GPP options. Nevertheless, chalky stacks will make appearances in this space, too.

Now, let's look at the top stacks on today's main slate.
Atlanta Braves
As usual, when Patrick Corbin starts, I suggest stacking against him. The Washington Nationals are giving the washed-up lefty the ball tonight, and the Atlanta Braves should tee off. According to FanGraphs, Corbin has a 6.11 ERA, 6.42 Expected ERA (xERA), and allowed 1.65 homers per nine innings this year.
Corbin has also been lousy against lefties and righties. Left-handed batters have had a .353 wOBA against Corbin in 2022. And righties have hammered Corbin for a .529 slugging and .388 wOBA. Additionally, Washington's bullpen is below average. So, the Braves can smash tonight.
The Braves are genuinely stackable from top to bottom. Nevertheless, my favorite selection is Austin Riley ($3,800). The slugging third baseman has tattooed lefties for a .283 ISO and 145 wRC+ since 2019. Ronald Acuna ($3,800) is another blue-chip choice, sporting a .379 OBP, .234 ISO, and 131 wRC+ against lefties. Finally, gamers should consider a wrap-around stack, using Robbie Grossman ($2,400) from the ninth spot.
Milwaukee Brewers
The Milwaukee Brewers aren't a high-octane offense. Still, they've shined at home and are facing a pitcher who's struggled on the road tonight. Carlos Carrasco has had a 4.42 ERA and coughed up 1.42 homers per nine innings on the road this year.
Carrasco also hasn't dominated either handedness of hitter. Instead, he's allowed a mediocre .307 wOBA to lefties. Further, righties have roughed him up for a .329 wOBA. So, Milwaukee's lefties and righties are stackable options tonight.
My two favorite picks are Rowdy Tellez ($2,700) and Willy Adames ($3,500). Tellez has had a juicy .300 ISO and 132 wRC+ against righties at American Family Field since the Brewers acquired him last year. Meanwhile, Adames has muscled up for a .287 ISO under the same conditions since the Beer Makers traded for him.
Finally, Keston Hiura ($2,400) is a sneaky-good pick if he starts. Hiura has had 25 homers, a .346 OBP, .294 ISO, and 138 wRC+ in 369 plate appearances at home against righties in his career.
Kansas City Royals
The Kansas City Royals are an intriguing contrarian stack in tournaments tonight. Dylan Bundy has had a 4.68 ERA in 26 starts, a near carbon copy of his 4.64 xFIP. He's also surrendered 1.42 homers per nine innings and struggled to strike out batters, owning a 20.2 percent strikeout rate, much lower than the league average (22.3 percent).
Sadly, the Royals don't have top-shelf options throughout their lineup. As a result, they're a more concentrated stack than the other two offenses previously discussed. So, I'm fixated on Bobby Witt Jr. ($3,600), Salvador Perez ($3,000), and Vinnie Pasquantino ($2,400).
Witt is a dynamic rookie, mashing 20 homers and stealing 27 bases. Meanwhile, Perez has had a .232 ISO against righties since last season. Finally, Pasquantino has had a 119 wRC+ against righties in his rookie campaign.
