Pitchers
Zac Gallen ($11,500)
At his median salary point this month, Arizona's right-hander will face a San Francisco Giants' lineup with a .319 weighted on-base average (wOBA) and a vulnerable 28.0% K-rate.
Through 49.2 innings this season, Gallen is performing at his highest level in his fifth year pitching in the Majors, accounting for an impressive 2.33 expected Fielding Independent Pitching rating (xFIP), a 33.9% strikeout rate, and a 12.9% swinging strike percentage.
In a matchup against six projected hitters with K-rates ranging from 25.4% to 29.4% and contact percentages lower than 76.9%, the 27-year old is ranked as Saturday's second rated pitcher with a 34.0 fantasy projection and 6.2 strikeouts in 5.85 expected innings.
Julio Urias ($10,000)
Overall through 45.1 innings, the Dodgers' left-hander is trending towards another solid season, recording a 3.64 xFIP and a 25.9% K-rate.
With an underrated 11.4% swinging strike percentage, Urias currently ranks third with a 32.1 fantasy projection against a San Diego Padres' unit averaging an underwhelming 3.4 runs in their last five contests.
Dylan Cease ($9,200)
After three straight rough starts, Cease will attempt to rebound versus a Houston Astros' offense with a 22.8% K-rate including four batters with strikeout percentages higher than 25.5% and contact rates ranging from 66.9% to 69.7%.
While most would be anxious about the 27-year old's current 5.58 Earned Run Average, the White Sox's fifth year pitcher has been relative unlucky when comparing his .327 batting average on balls in play to his .288 career mark and his 4.34 xFIP.
With today's highest strikeout prediction at 7.23, Cease still rates as a risky but high-ceiling option at his third lowest salary this season especially when analyzing his slate-high 3.84 value rating and 35.3 fantasy expectation.
Stacks
Colorado's Ryan Feltner will make his eighth start this season against a Philadelphia lineup with Saturday's top run total at an eye-popping 6.16 mark.
Through 33.2 innings this season, Colorado's right-hander has accounted for below-average metrics in his third Major League stint, recording an ugly 4.90 xFIP, 13.8% walk percentage, and a 8.9% swinging strike rate.
To best capture Feltner's trouble versus left-handed bats (5.02 xFIP), ideal Phillies' combinations should feature Bryce Harper (current .321 expected average, 13.0% barrel rate), Kyle Schwarber (12.2% barrel rate), Bryson Stott (.265 current expected average), and Brandon Marsh (10.1% barrel rate) while Nick Castellanos (.280 expected average, 9.4% barrel rate) and Alec Bohm (.267 expected average) are secondary options.
Despite last night's disappointing offensive performance at Coors Field, the Rockies are second among today's offenses with 5.34 expected runs versus left-hander Ranger Suarez.
In his last 29 starts while Philadelphia's left-hander has been relatively solid with a 3.82 xFIP, the 26-year old has struggled against the opposing side of the plate, recording a 4.13 xFIP and a .324 wOBA in this split.
With this main weakness in focus, C.J. Cron (.485 expected slugging, 16.3% barrel rate), Kris Bryant (.288 expected average, .469 expected slugging), Elias Diaz (.291 expected average, .339 expected wOBA), Ezequiel Tovar (6.7% barrel rate), and Randal Grichuk (6.7% barrel rate) rank best as main stacking components.
Outside of Saturday's contest in Colorado, Baltimore's bats could be overlooked despite today's appetizing matchup against Pittsburgh's young righty Roansy Contreras.
Through 136.0 career innings, the 23-year old's profile is nothing to be afraid of when analyzing his 4.62 xFIP, 10.1% walk percentage, and an opposing 9.9% barrel rate.
To best attack his struggles versus left-handed bats (5.28 xFIP, 15.5% K-rate), the top and middle of Baltimore's batting order are core options including Cedric Mullins (.323 expected wOBA), Adley Rutschman (.297 expected average, 8.5% barrel rate), Anthony Santander (10.4% barrel rate), and Gunnar Henderson (9.5% barrel rate).
