4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 4/28/16
Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.
Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.
Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.
Premium members can use our new stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.
Now, let's get to the stacks. With the split slates today, we'll be cutting the stacks in half with the first two teams being on the early slate and the final two on the late slate. Additionally, we will not be including the game at Coors Field in these stacks. Y'all already know to get exposure there, and you don't need me to tell you. Here are the other teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.
Chicago Cubs
There's more rain in the forecast today for Chicago, so you'll want to keep an eye on this puppy again, but if they fight through the precipitation and the cold weather, the Chicago Cubs' bats could heat things up.
The Milwaukee Brewers will throw out righty Taylor Jungmann for the fifth time this year, and the first four have been a bit of a wild ride. He has twice gotten the boot before recording an out in the fifth, and he had more walks than strikeouts in another outing. Overall, he's got a 5.25 SIERA with a 13.8% strikeout rate and 12.5% walk rate that'll make Cubs manager Joe Maddon drool. With the Cubs holding a 116 wRC+ against righties this year, they're fully capable of taking advantage.
Although most of the Cubs have seen a major price hike, Ben Zobrist has been moving in the opposite direction. Strangely, though, he is still just as good as he has been in the past. His hard-hit rate is identical to last year, and his soft-hit rate is 3.5 percentage points lower. Toss in just an 11.0% strikeout rate and a grotesque 19.5% walk rate, and you see a batter who is bound to put together a quality slash line soon. With the new scoring rules on FanDuel giving us more incentive to seek runs batted in, Zobrist should be staring down a price increase of his own in the near future.
