Jackie Bradley Jr. playing right field Friday for Red Sox opener
Boston Red Sox outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. is starting in right field and hitting eighth on Friday afternoon against right-hander Gerrit Cole and the New York Yankees.
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Friday that he plans on using Bradley and Christian Arroyo in a "strict" platoon in right field. J.D. Martinez is at designated hitter for Friday's season opener. Boston's full lineup against Cole and the Yanks: Enrique Hernández CF, Rafael Devers 3B, Xander Bogaerts SS, Martinez DH, Alex Verdugo LF, Trevor Story 2B, Bobby Dalbec 1B, Bradley Jr. RF, Christian Vazquez C. Nathan Eovaldi is starting at pitcher for the Red Sox.
