Pirates trade pitcher Jose Quintana to Cardinals
The Pittsburgh Pirates are trading left-handed pitcher Jose Quintana to the St. Louis Cardinals, Jeff Passan reports.
Quintana joins a Cardinals team in need of help at starting pitcher, and should be able to provide assistance to them in that regard as they make a push for the playoffs.
Quintana, who has a 3-5 record with the Pirates so far this season, is pitching for a 3.5 ERA in 100.3 innings, as well as a 1.27 WHIP and an 89/31 strikeouts/walks ratio.
