Brandon Lowe on Rays' bench Wednesday afternoon
Tampa Bay Rays second baseman Brandon Lowe is not in the starting lineup versus left-hander Patrick Corbin and the Washington Nationals in Wednesday afternoon's series finale.
Lowe will grab a seat after going 1-for-10 with a run scored and 3 strikeouts over the first two games of the series. Taylor Walls will cover the keystone while Isaac Paredes will replace Lowe in the lineup to play third base and bat third. Paredes will be bookended in the order by Wander Franco and cleanup man Randy Arozarena.
Paredes is currently numberFire’s top point-per-dollar value among hitters on Wednesday. He has a $2,300 salary and our models project him for 12.4 FanDuel points in a plus matchup. Last season, Paredes had a 142 wRC+, .360 wOBA, .286 ISO, 43.4% fly-ball rate, and 23.7% hard-contact rate versus left-handed pitchers. Meanwhile, Corbin allowed 1.79 homers per nine innings off a 41.1% hard-hit rate and 35.0% fly-ball rate against right-handed bats. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Rays have the highest implied total of the day at 5.14.
