Cardinals' Taylor Motter sitting Thursday
St. Louis Cardinals infielder Taylor Motter is not in the starting lineup against right-hander Vince Velasquez and the Pittsburgh Pirates in Thursday's series opener.
Motter will move to the bench after starting on second and then third base the last two games. Tommy Edman will replace Motter in the lineup on Thursday to play shortstop and hit ninth. Brendan Donovan will be on the keystone and Nolan Arenado will take over on the hot corner. Nolan Gorman will be the Cardinals' designated hitter.
numberFire’s models project Edman ($2,600) for 9.5 FanDuel points on Thursday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Cardinals' implied total (5.16) is third-highest of the day while the game total is 8.5.
