Will Brennan on Guardians bench in first game Tuesday
Cleveland Guardians outfielder Will Brennan is not in the starting lineup against left-hander Matt Boyd and the Detroit Tigers in Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader.
The left-handed hitting Brennan will sit versus the Tigers' southpaw in the first half of Tuesday's twin bill. Eduardo Rodriguez, who is also a lefty, will be starting for Detroit in Game 2, so Brennan might be on the bench for both contests. Steven Kwan will shift to left field while Josh Bell takes on the designated hitter role. Gabriel Arias will be on first base while Tyler Freeman will man shortstop and bat second. The Guardians recalled Freeman from Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday to replace reliever Enyel De Los Santos (paternity leave) on the active roster.
Kwan has a $7,500 salary on Tuesday's single-game slate for Game 1 and numberFire’s models project him for 12.3 FanDuel points, second-highest among batters in the contest. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Guardians' implied total is 4.47 and the game total is 8.5 for Game 1.
