Boston's David Ortiz won't be in lineup Tuesday versus Giants
Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz won't be in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Giants in San Francisco, Red Sox' manager John Farrell said on MLB Network Radio on Sirius XM.
The Red Sox don't have the luxury of the designated hitter under National League rules, so Ortiz will be limited to pinch-hitting duties. Hanley Ramirez will start at first base.
Ortiz has been one of the game's best hitters this year, putting up an insane .465 wOBA with 16 jacks. We project him to post a .393 wOBA with 23 more taters this season.
