Angels place Anthony Rendon (groin) on injured list
The Los Angeles Angels placed third baseman Anthony Rendon on the 10-day injured list Monday, retroactive to May 14, with a left groin strain.
Rendon was pulled early from Sunday's game versus the Cleveland Guardians. The Angels haven't indicated whether Rendon is expected to return when first eligible on May 24. They recalled infielder Livan Soto from Double-A Rocket City in a corresponding roster move, but Gio Urshela figures to be the primary third baseman while Rendon is out.
Rendon is averaging 10.9 FanDuel points per game this season while slashing .301/.415/.369 with 1 homer, 4 doubles, 20 RBI, and 19 runs scored across 130 plate appearances.
