Max Muncy moving to Dodgers bench Wednesday
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy is not in the lineup on Wednesday against left-hander Kyle Freeland and the Colorado Rockies.
The left-handed hitting Muncy will sit versus the Rockies' southpaw. He went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in his return from the injured list Tuesday. Yonny Hernandez will replace Muncy on second base Wednesday and hit ninth. J.D. Martinez will move up a spot to fill in as the Dodgers' cleanup batter.
Per numberFire's MLB Heat Map, the Dodgers' implied total is the best in the majors on Wednesday at a sky-high 7.22 while the game total is also the highest of the day (12.5) at Coors Field. Freeland has a rough 4.54 ERA and even worse 5.11 xERA this season, with a 41.1% hard-hit rate, 14.6% strikeout rate (bottom 5th percentile in MLB), and 6.6% walk rate. Our models project Hernandez ($2,500) for 8.5 FanDuel points on Wednesday.
