Tigers rest Jonathan Schoop on Friday
Detroit Tigers infielder Jonathan Schoop is not starting in Friday's lineup against the Colorado Rockies.
Schoop will take a seat on the bench after Andy Ibanez was shifted to third base, Zack Short was moved to second, Javier Baez was positioned at shortstop, and Miguel Cabrera was named Friday's designated hitter.
According to Baseball Savant on 89 batted balls this season, Schoop has recorded a 4.5% barrel rate and a .227 expected average.
