Dominic Smith sitting for Nationals Thursday afternoon
Washington Nationals first baseman Dominic Smith is not in the lineup for Thursday afternoon's series finale against left-hander Brandon Williamson and the Cincinnati Reds.
The left-handed hitting Smith will sit as the Reds send a southpaw to the hill. Joey Meneses will cover first base and bat third. Keibert Ruiz will shift to designated hitter and bat fifth while Riley Adams will catch for MacKenzie Gore and bat seventh.
