Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto is not in the lineup for Tuesday's series opener against left-hander Logan Allen and the Cleveland Guardians.

The Reds are holding the left-handed hitting Votto out of the order versus a southpaw. Henry Ramos will take over at designated hitter and bat fifth while Christian Encarnacion-Strand will start on first base again. TJ Hopkins will start in right field and bat ninth.
