Rangers give Travis Jankowski Monday night off
The Texas Rangers did not list Travis Jankowski as a starter for Monday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
What It Means:
Jankowski will take the night off while the Rangers bring in Jonah Heim to start at catcher. Heim will bat seventh while Mitch Garver shifts to designated hitter and Robbie Grossman covers left field.
Jankowski has still only launched a single home run this season, but has otherwise been stellar at the plate. He's batting .281 on the season, with 33 runs, 27 RBI, 16 stolen bases and a .737 OPS across 246 plate appearances.
