Cal Raleigh sitting for Seattle Wednesday afternoon
Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh is not in the lineup for Wednesday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Michael Kopech and the Chicago White Sox.
Raleigh will rest for the day game after he went 3-for-8 with 2 home runs, a double, 7 RBI, and 3 runs in the first two games of the series. Brian O'Keefe will catch for George Kirby and hit ninth. Teoscar Hernandez will fill the void in the cleanup spot, with Eugenio Suarez hitting third and Ty France batting fifth.
Per numberFire's MLB Heat Map, the Mariners have the highest implied total in the majors on Wednesday at 5.54 and the game total is a batter-friendly 9.5. Kopech has an ugly 5.88 xERA this season (bottom 6th percentile of MLB) and he's handing out walks at a higher rate (14.7%) than almost any other qualified pitcher.
