Mike Trout (wrist) sitting for Angels Wednesday in first game
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (wrist) is not in the lineup for Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader against left-hander Andrew Abbott and the Cincinnati Reds.
Trout is dealing with some lingering wrist soreness after he returned from a six-week absence on Tuesday. It's unclear if Trout will be available for the second game on Wednesday, but Mickey Moniak will cover center field and hit eighth in the first matchup. Randal Grichuk will start in left and hit fifth.
Per numberFire's MLB Heat Map, the Angels' implied total is 4.71 and the game total is 8.5 on Wednesday. Abbott has a 2.99 ERA and 3.73 xERA this season, with a 41.5% hard-hit rate, 26.9% strikeout rate (top 75th percentile of MLB), and 8.3% walk rate.
