Reds' Matt McLain (oblique) lands on IL
The Cincinnati Reds have placed Matt McLain (oblique) on the 10-day injured list.
McLain has been having a fiery rookie season, but will take some time off to nurse an oblique injury. The team sent McLain to the 10-day injured list Monday, promoting Stuart Fairchild (concussion) in a corresponding move.
McLain has been fantastic as a rookie, batting .290 with 16 homers, 65 runs, 50 RBI, 14 stolen bases and a .864 OPS through 403 plate appearances.
