Yankees release third baseman Josh Donaldson (calf) on Tuesday
The New York Yankees have released third baseman Josh Donaldson on Tuesday.
Despite working his way back from a calf injury, Donaldson's tenure with the Yankees will end after the veteran logged 165 games in two seasons.
Expect Oswaldo Cabrera to see more at-bats and time at third base during the stretch. Per Baseball Savant on 163 batted balls this season, Cabrera has recorded a 4.3% barrel rate and a .206 expected average.
