Salvador Perez (back/neck) on first base Friday for Royals
Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez (back/neck) is back in the lineup for Friday's series opener against left-hander James Paxton and the Boston Red Sox.
Perez is feeling better after he was held out of Wednesday's series finale against the Pittsburgh Pirates for back/neck tightness. He is replacing Matt Beaty on first base Friday and batting third. Freddy Fermin is starting at catcher again for the Royals.
numberFire’s models project Perez ($2,500) for 9.9 FanDuel points on Friday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Royals' implied total is 4.16 and the game total is 9.5. Paxton has been solid overall this season, but his velocity has been declining and he registered an ugly 5.84 ERA with a 1.78 WHIP in August.
