Brandon Belt (back) scratched for Blue Jays Sunday; Spencer Horwitz enters
Toronto Blue Jays infielder Brandon Belt has been scratched Sunday for the team's game against the Colorado Rockies.
Belt is dealing with lower back tightness. As a result, the team has pulled him from the lineup for Sunday's series finale. Spencer Horwitz will take over at first base, batting fifth in the order versus Rockies starter Chase Anderson.
In 380 plate appearances this season, Belt has a .252 batting average with an .844 OPS, 16 home runs, 50 runs and 38 RBI.
