Kyle Farmer on second base Thursday for Twins in opener
Minnesota Twins infielder Kyle Farmer is starting on second base and batting seventh against left-hander Cole Ragans and the Kansas City Royals on Opening Day.
Farmer and Edouard Julien are expected to platoon on second base this season, with the right-handed hitting Farmer starting against southpaws. Alex Kirilloff and Matt Wallner are also out of the lineup on Thursday. Manuel Margot is starting at designated hitter and batting ninth for the Twins.
