Baltimore's Jorge Mateo sitting versus Royals Monday
The Baltimore Orioles did not list Jorge Mateo in their starting lineup for Monday's game against the Kansas City Royals.
Mateo will move back to the bench for Monday's game as Baltimore rotates its crowded infield. Jordan Westburg will take over second base from Mateo and Ramon Urias will step in at third.
Mateo could struggle for plate appearances this season, but is a threat to steal bases every time he makes the lineup after stealing 32 and 35 in 2023 and 2022, respectively. He has already stolen one base in his first six plate appearances this season.
