Nationals move Eddie Rosario to bench versus lefty Sunday
The Washington Nationals will not start Eddie Rosario in Sunday's game against the Oakland Athletics.
Rosario has been a part of the Nationals' platoon against right-handed pitchers this year, but will shift to the bench today against left-hander Alex Wood. Jesse Winker will take his spot in left field and Joey Meneses will join the lineup at DH and bat third.
Rosario is projected for 437 more plate appearances this season, but he'll need to start showing more at the plate than his current .121 batting average to hold onto those projected opportunities. The Nationals have two young outfielders in the Minors waiting for their Majors debut in James Wood and Dylan Crews.
