Seattle's James Paxton goes on disabled list with forearm strain
The Seattle Mariners placed starting pitcher James Paxton on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to May 3, with a left forearm strain.
There was no indication anything was wrong with Paxton after his start on Tuesday, but obviously, something was wrong. It is unclear the severity of the injury and who will replace him in a depleted Mariners' rotation that is already missing Felix Hernandez.
Paxton was off to a promising start with a 3-0 record, 1.43 ERA, 1.53 FIP, 0.98 WHIP, and 45 strikeouts in 37 2/3 innings pitched this season.
