X-rays negative on Cubs' Anthony Rizzo's forearm
Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo’s X-rays came back negative on his left forearm after he was hit by an Aroldis Chapman 99-mph fastball during Sunday’s game against the New York Yankees.
"Luckily, there’s nothing significant," said Rizzo. "I thank my parents I drank my milk when I was a kid and have some decent bones." Rizzo managed to play another nine innings before the Cubs eventually conceded defeat in the 18th inning. It doesn't sound like he's going to miss any time.
Rizzo is slashing .224/.353/.416 with six home runs, 18 RBI's and four stolen bases across 150 plate appearances this season. His 14.0 strikeout percentage is currently on pace for the best of his career.
