Ben Gamel sets new career high in Mariners' loss
Seattle Mariners outfielder Ben Gamel went 4-for-5 with a home run and a career-high four RBI's in Tuesday's 10-9 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies.
Gamel's strong play at the plate has helped him seize the second spot in Seattle's batting order while Mitch Haniger recovers from his oblique injury. The four RBI's doubled his previous career high in a single game.
On the season, Gamel is hitting .362/.455/.596 with two home runs and 11 RBI's in 56 plate appearances. Eight of those RBI's have come in the past five contests.
