Indians place Carlos Santana on paternity leave
Cleveland Indians first baseman Carlos Santana has been placed on the club's paternity leave list.
Santana will be out for the next few games as he takes time to be with his wife. Abraham Almonte (biceps) was active from the disabled list in a corresponding move. Almonte will serve as the team's DH on Wednesday, while Edwin Encarnacion is starting at first base and hitting cleanup against Luis Perdomo.
Through 82 games, Santana has 10 home runs, 46 RBI and a .233 average. Our algorithms project him for 11 more dingers, 38 RBI and a .271 average the rest of the way in 2017.
