Red Sox poised to acquire Addison Reed from Mets
The Boston Red Sox are set to acquire reliever Addison Reed from the New York Mets, according to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal.
The deal is pending medical reviews and will return three minor league pitchers to the Mets. Reed is set to become a free agent after this season, but he figures to be a big factor for Boston's stretch run.
Across 48 appearances and 49 innings, Reed has 19 saves, 4 holds and a 3.15 FIP in 2017. He's also struck out 8.82 batters while walking just 1.10 per 9 innings.
