Stephen Curry, 2015-16

nERD: 26.2

The best single season to come from a player not named James or Durant is the baby-faced assassin, Stephen Curry. In the Warriors' 73-win season, Curry won his second MVP unanimously with what I would call an unearthly season.

In 79 games, the Chef averaged a personal-best 30.1 points per game while also dishing out 6.7 assists and grabbing 5.4 boards per game (also a career high). He converted 20.2 field goal attempts per game at an effective field goal percentage clip of 63%. He shot 45.4% on his way to knocking down an NBA record 402 three-balls.

The amazing combination of volume and efficiency amounted to .318 win shares per 48 and a career-high PER of 31.5. His usage, box plus-minus and value over replacement were also, by far, the greatest in his seven-plus seasons in the NBA.
