The Portland Trail Blazers come in with an identical composite ranking to the Pistons, however, they're very different in that they sacrifice a little defense for offense. Like the Pistons, they're actually next-to-last in pace, but 22nd in defensive rating, which drags their nERD rank down to 15th.
What's great is their offensive rating of 107.1 and the coinciding 49.31% effective field goal percentage. Those figures rank sixth and 11th in the last 16 seasons. So, in an offensive era of NBA basketball, it's understandable that the Blazers have made the playoffs nine times.
