The 10 Best NBA Seasons by Teenagers
5. Andris Biedrins, Golden State Warriors (2005-06)
Unless you count Irving (who was born in Australia) among the international products, Andris Biedrins, of Latvia, is the only overseas player to perform at such a high level before his 20th birthday. Biedrins was drafted as an 18-year-old and took a year to get his bearings in the NBA before adding value to the Golden State Warriors.
In his sophomore season, the 6'11" forward/center combo averaged .137 win shares per 48 minutes. That was a decline from his first season, but Biedrins played in 38 more games and played 616 more minutes over the totality of the 2005 season (his first year didn't meet the qualifications set for this list).
Given his increase in playing time, Biedrins produced 3.8 points and 4.2 rebounds in 14.7 minutes per game. If taken over 36 minutes, that's 9.3 points and 10.2 rebounds in 68 games and just two starts.
The Warriors finished fifth in the division with a record of 34-48. Biedrins averaged more than 23 minutes in the next five seasons and played seven more seasons with Golden State before calling it quits after a single season with the Utah Jazz.
