3 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Basketball Plays for 1/27/17
Mike Conley, PG, Memphis Grizzlies
FanDuel Price: $7,400
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Mike Conley has struggled in back-to-backs and isn't likely to be popular amid a loaded point guard position.
John Wall, Isaiah Thomas, and Kyrie Irving have all been playing exceptionally well and are in some of the best possible matchups for point guards. In the mid-range, Jeff Teague and Goran Dragic are both in good spots and should be on the radar of daily fantasy players.
Why You Should Use Him:
Conley has struggled to find his shot in his last two games, but that hasn't stopped him from attempting 33 combined shots, even with Gasol dominating down low. The fact that Conley isn't deferring, even during a hot stretch for Gasol and a cold stretch for him, is encouraging for his fantasy prospects going forward.
Prior to his recent skid, Conley was enjoying quite the hot streak, averaging 39.8 FanDuel points over an eight-game stretch. If anything will get Conley back to that type of production, it would be a meeting with Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers. Lillard ranks 76th among 86 qualified point guards in DRPM, and the Blazers were most recently seen allowing Louis Williams and Jordan Clarkson to combine for 53 points and 77.9 FanDuel points.
Conley's recent struggles are enough to keep him out of cash lineups with a loaded point guard player pool, but he has frequently shown the ability of scoring 40-plus FanDuel points and tonight's matchup could be exactly what he needs to get back on track.
