Why He Will Go Overlooked:

Tim Hardaway Jr. has played well recently, but is still somewhat of an unknown commodity and is part of a shooting guard position that has a few clear-cut top options. At the top, Giannis Antetokounmpo will command his fair share of ownership against the Los Angeles Lakers, while Bradley Beal is sure to be a popular option given his recent play.

In the same price range as Hardaway, Will Barton has posted consecutive strong performances in an expanded role for the Denver Nuggets and should have high ownership against the New York Knicks.

Why You Should Use Him:

Hardaway has been a bit difficult to trust on a game-to-game basis since seeing his role expanded, but he has shown upside -- he's topped 33 FanDuel points in three of his past six games, over which he has averaged 30.2 FanDuel points.

He'll look to continue his breakout against the Sacramento Kings, who are notorious for their struggles against shooting guards over the past few seasons. Sacramento hasn't been quite as bad from a fantasy perspective this year thanks to a harsh decrease in pace, but they still rank in the bottom 10 in FanDuel points allowed to opposing two-guards.

Ty Lawson and Garrett Temple are the only Sacramento guards who come close to resembling competent defenders, and both are expected to be out tonight. In their stead, the likes of Ben McLemore and Arron Afflalo will likely spend time guarding Hardaway, and the two rank 75th and 93rd, respectively, among shooting guards in defensive real plus-minus (DRPM).

There are too many good shooting guard options to consider Hardaway in cash formats, but he will carry much lower ownership and is a leverage play off teammates Dennis Schroder and Paul Millsap, who figure to be popular options. Give him a look when constructing tournament lineups.
